3. How we use your information

We use your personal data to:

  • Contract — to provide you with the services you sign up for
  • Legitimate interest — to operate, improve, and secure our platform
  • Legal obligation — where required by UK law
5. How we share your information

We may share your data with:

  • Service providers who help us run Pikavexa (hosting, email, analytics, payment processing). These providers are contractually required to protect your data.
  • Tutors and businesses within the platform when relevant to a project you're part of
  • The public, but only for information you've chosen to make public on your profile
  • Legal authorities if required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
6. Public profiles

If you choose to publish a profile at pikavexa.com/talent/your-name, the following may be visible to anyone on the internet: your name and chosen username, profile bio and links, approved projects and associated deliverables, and reviews and verifications attached to your work.

You can make your profile private at any time through your account settings. Approved projects are not retroactively removed from search engine indexes — please consider this before making information public.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to make Pikavexa work and to understand how it's used.

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function (login, security)
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand how the site is used
  • Preference cookies — remember your settings and choices

You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings or through our cookie banner.

8. How long we keep your data

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary:

  • Active accounts — data is kept while your account is active
  • Inactive accounts — typically deleted after 24 months of inactivity, unless legal retention is required
  • Waitlist entries — kept until you unsubscribe or we close the waitlist
  • Project deliverables — kept while your profile is active and the project is published

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict how we process your data
  • Object to processing in certain circumstances
  • Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the legal basis

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@pikavexa.com. We will respond within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk

10. Data security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted data storage, secure authentication, regular access reviews, and vendor security assessments.

No system is completely secure. If you become aware of a security issue, please contact us immediately at hello@pikavexa.com.

11. International transfers

Pikavexa primarily operates within the UK. If we transfer your data outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or transfers to countries with UK adequacy decisions.
